Details of sensitive places to be issued soon: Hamid

ISLAMABAD—Caretaker Federal Minister for Interior Lt, Gen (r) Hamid Nawaz Khan on Friday said that details of sensitive places regarding upcoming general elections would be issued soon and it is the duty of local administration and Election Commission to notify all these places.
He said this while talking to media persons during the visit of under construction parade ground. The Minister said that there is a possibility of suicide attacks during the election but it is difficult to stop the suicide attacker especially when election activities are at peak.
He added that Swat has been wiped out of terrorists and militants and now civil administration is functioning there.
Earlier, the Caretaker Minister was briefed about the project of new parade ground by FWO authorities.
The Minister was told that 70 percent work on this project has been completed and remaining would be completed till January 31, 2008 and national day parade of 2008 would be held in this ground. The new parade ground would have the capacity of thirty thousand spectators while ten thousand vehicles would be parked in parking area. The exhibitions and cultural shows will also be held in this ground while it would be handed over to Pakistan Army for one month for national day parade.
The project would be completed with the total cost of 433.3 million rupees. The Minister directed the officials of FWO and CDA to speed up the developmental work while keeping in view the quality of construction work.
Secretary Interior Syed Kamal Shah, Chairman Kamran Lashari and other officials were also present on this occasion.
