Funds of Bait-ul-Mall frozen for elections

RAWALPINDI—On the special instructions of Chief Election Commissioner, District Bait-ul-Mall Rawalpindi has frozen all the funds of the Bait-ul-Mall till the next general elections and also stopped the distribution of funds among the deserving and needy people.
Chairman Baitul Mall Committee Chaudhary Noor Khan while talking to media men here has said that the decision has been taken in the light of Code of Conduct introduced by Chief Election Commissioner aimed to make sure free, fair and transparent elections.
He said that the banks have been also directed not pay the payment to people to whom cheques were issued. All the cheques would be distributed after polling, he added.—Agencies He further told that a truck was also impounded during the campaign adding that Rs 244,550were imposed as fine on vehicles.—Agencies
