Journalists to continue protest on Eid day

ISLAMABAD—Journalists community has announced to continue protest camp on Eid day against curbs on media and judiciary and closure of private TV channel. This was announced by protesting journalists at protest camp outside Islamabad press club office here Friday. They staged sit in chanted slogans against the government and called for immediate withdrawal of PEMRA ordinance.
Journalists reiterated they would continue their protest camp on Eid day also and will not observe holiday on Eid. Addressing the protest camp, RIUJ, former president, Pervez Shaukat said curbs on private TV channels have rendered employees of media channels jobless. The responsibility in this respect lies with the dictatorship. "We have to secure deliverance of country from the clutches of dictatorship and have to work for restoration of democracy", he remarked.—Agencies
