Nawaz vows to
foil poll rigging plan
HARRIPUR—PML-N chief Mian Nawaz Sharif has said those who support PML-Q
candidate in general elections will be sinners as the king party
sponsored the killings of girl students of Lal Masjid and the mosques
and madaris were targeted in rocket attacks during PML-Q rule.
He said this while addressing a public gathering after PML0-N
parliamentary board meeting at the residence of Pir Sabir Shah in Srikot.
He reiterated January, 8 election would be popular referendum against
PML-Q and military regime. “ I have not come here to seek votes for my
self but I have come here to seek votes national security”, he
underlined. On the other hand PML-Q was seeking votes so that the
deterioration created by President Musharraf should continue.
“ We are reviewing the matter of seat to seat adjustment with PPP. We
will decide about it”, he held,. The judiciary and constitution should
be brought to pre November, 2 position forthwith . Judges be restored
and curbs imposed on media be withdrawn forthwith, he demanded.
He urged PML-N workers to foil rigging plans of rulers on January, 8.
They should minutely review every thing on polling stations, he added.
One general has used army and destroyed national institutions for his
personal gains, Nawaz Sharif alleged. Country will only be independent
if its judiciary is independent, he added.
President Musharraf and its team had unleashed storm of inflation in the
country, he said adding people are crying for flour today but it is
nowhere available. Pir Sabir Shah also spoke on the occasion. PML-N
candidates and workers from across NWFP attended the meeting.
Earlier Mian Nawaz Sharif presided over PML-N parliamentary board
meeting at Pur Sabir Shah residence. He announced names of PML-N
candidates for 26 national assembly seats out of 45 constituencies and
issued party tickets. The candidates included Haji Afzal from NA-1, Haji
Abdul Sattar advocate from NA-2, Iqbal Zafar Jhagra from NA-3 and 4,
Sajjad Ali from NA, 8, Rahid Mannan from NA-9, Shoaib Khan from NA-10,
Abdul Subhan Khan from NA-11, Iftikhar Ahmad advocate from NA-12, Liaqat
Ahmad Khan from NA-13, Javed Ibrahim Paracha, from NA-14, Shams ur
Rehman Khattak from NA-15, Sardar Mehtab Abbasi from NA-17, Sardar
Muhammad Mushtaq from NA-19, Gen (Retd) Salah ud Din Tirmizi from NA-20,
Faiz Muhammad Khan from NA-21, Niaz Muhammad Khan from NA-22, Hisbullah
Khan from NA-25, Malik Nasir Khan from NA-26, Ali Sher Khan advocate
from NA-28, Riaz Ahmad Khan from NA-29, Muhammad Riaz Khan from NA-30,
Dr Fateh Mand Khan from NA-31, Akhundzada Muhammad ul Mulk from NA-33,
Sajjad Ahmad Khan from NA-35 and Sardar Azam Afridi from NA-45.
The PML-N parliamentary board committee will decide about the rest of 15
seats. Committee comprises Pir Sabir Hussain Shah, Sardar Mehtab Khan
