308 vehicles challaned, 60 impounded

RAWALPINDI—308 vehicles have been challaned and 60 impounded during the special campaign of Rawalpindi Traffic Police (RTP) against without route permit public transport vehicles.
Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) SSP Sabir Ahmed while talking to reporters told that during the campaign 308 vehicles were challenged and 60 were impounded in different police stations.
He told that most of the action is taken against taxies, which are 119 in numbers and action was also initiated against 80 passenger wagons of different routes.
Similarly action was taken against suzukies running on different routes, which are 80 in number and 8 auto rickshaws are included. He further told that a truck was also impounded during the campaign adding that Rs 244,550were imposed as fine on vehicles.—Agencies
