Nawaz challenges Chaudhris

PASROOR—PML-N chief Mian Nawaz Sharif said his party decided to contest election with a view not to leave the filed open for Pervez Musharraf.
“We decided not to contest elections to block illegal moves of Pervez Musharraf. But Benazir Bhutto wanted to contest the elections. Therefore we opted to participate in the elections not to leave the field open for Pervez Musharraf”, he said this while addressing a gathering here Wednesday in NA-114 at Pasroor-Daska chowk as part of election campaign of Mirza Abdul Qayyum, PML-N candidate for national assembly seat.
He alleged rulers were hell bent upon ruining all the institutions including judiciary. Therefore, people should rise now against them to save the country, he appealed. If people don’t take such stand, Pervez Musharraf will take the country to the brink of destruction.
Pakistan was facing 1971 like situation, he cautioned. Supporting PML-Q in election is tantamount to strengthen Pervez Musharraf and if his hands are strengthened then so many Dr Qadeer Khan will be detained and so many judges will be placed under house arrest.
January, 8 election would be referendum against Pervez Musharraf and we will force him to run away, he underlined.—Agencies
