FBR, ICCI to hold seminar on tax issues

ISLAMABAD—Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) in collaboration with Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) will arrange a facilitation seminar to educate the taxpayers about various tax issues.
Member Federal Board of Revenue Khawar K.Butt while talking to Muhammad Nasir Khan, President ICCI, said that FBR has made a number of organizational changes for providing maximum facilitation to the taxpayers and in the beginning of next year they will organize a facilitation seminar that would explain various tax issues faced to taxpayers so that they could easily tackle the tax
problems confronting them.
He said that in these seminars detailed information would be given to the business community about tax procedures and they would find the opportunity to raise queries on various tax related issues. He further said that these seminars would be very interactive and shall be greatly beneficial for the business community. He said that facilitation seminars would help in removing certain doubts in the minds of the taxpayers. Khawar Butt said that the government is making efforts to change the tax culture5 in the country by reducing bottlenecks and providing maximum facilitation to the taxpayers to attract more taxpayers in the tax net. He expressed great satisfaction on the response of the business community on filing annual tax returns as its number is increasing as per projected targets.
President ICCI, on the occasion said, that he highly appreciated the initiative of the government and said that it would help further in building the confidence of the taxpayers which shall eventually broad the tax net. He said that it is encouraging that the element of harassment has almost been totally eliminated and new tax friendly schemes are being introduced by FBR to build the trust of the business community. He assured full cooperation of Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry in holding the seminars and hoped for fruitful out come of it.
