ISLAMABAD— The President and Editor-in-Chief of The Daily Mail and

excellence and trust as there has been a great development in direction

International(CRI), led by Mr.

China had increased amazingly and there had been a great deal of desire

and politico-cultural values. He said that with the presence of able and
visionary leadership both at Beijing and Islamabad, the decade old
friendship between the peoples has transformed in to a bond of love,
going much beyond just friendship.

goes to the policies of the leaderships at Islamabad and Beijing as both
the government, during the past five to seven years took a lot of
initiatives to promote friendship and enhance people to people contact.
Mr. Makhdoom observed that media had to play a very vital and pivotal
role in enhancing further this friendship and people to people contact.

cultural and social values, resulting into bringing the people from both
sides even closer. He said that despite the fact that the Chinese media
was delivering with a great responsibility and professionalism, yet, it
lacked in giving as much as possible information to its people about
Pakistan and Pakistanis.
He urged upon the Chinese media, particularly the Chinese language media
to play more effective role in this direction as it was not their
professional obligation but was obligatory as part of a reciprocity as
well. He said that The Daily Mail was fulfilling its obligations in this
regard by printing one whole page about china every day, enabling more
and more people to know more and more about China.. he lauded the role
of CRI and said that CVRI had very rightly noticed the need of media
endeavors for promotion of Pak-China relations, long ago, and thus
started its Urdu service. He offered all the support of The Daily Mail
for assisting CRI in this direction. Mr. Makhdoom also proposed a few
joint ventures between CRI and The Daily Mail which were very much
welcomed by the CRI delegation.
