Govt making efforts to change tax culture: Khawar

ISLAMABAD—Member Federal Board of Revenue Khawar K Butt Wednesday said that the government is making efforts to change the tax culture in the country by reducing bottlenecks and providing maximum facilitation to the taxpayers to attract more taxpayers in the tax net.
Member Federal Board of Revenue, Khawar K.Butt, while talking to Muhammad Nasir Khan, President Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry said that FBR has made a number of organizational changes for providing maximum facilitation to the taxpayers and in the beginning of next year FBR plans to arrange a facilitation seminar with the collaboration of Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry. He said government is now planning to organize series of facilitation seminars across the country to education the taxpayers about various tax issues, so that they could easily tackle the tax problems confronting them.
He said in these seminars detailed information would be given to the business community about tax procedures and they would find the opportunity to raise queries on various tax related issues.
He further said that these seminars would be very interactive and shall be greatly beneficial for the business community. He said that facilitation seminars would help in removing certain doubts in the minds of the taxpayers. He informed that Abdullah Yousaf, Chairman FBR will also present at this occasion to give answers to the queries.
Khawar Butt said that the government is making efforts to change the tax culture in the country by reducing bottlenecks and providing maximum facilitation to the taxpayers to attract more taxpayers in the tax net.
