21 killed in Waziristan

WANA—Six soldiers and 15 militants were killed and 20 others wounded in latest clashes on Wednesday in North Waziristan, said military spokesman. The convoy came under fire when it was moving from Miranshah to the town of Razmak in the same district.
‘According to the reports I have, so far six soldiers lost their lives in the attack and 20 were injured,’ said Inter Service Public Relations Major-General Arshad Waheed. In a retaliatory operation, said the spokesman, forces gunship helicopters pounded suspected militants hideouts. He said in the retaliatory operation about 15 militants were killed. The reports indicate that 15 militants who attacked the convoy were killed,’ Waheed said. ‘Local sources also confirmed these casualties.’ —Agencies
