ZTBL, Peshawar match in Quiad Trophy Cricket drawn

PESHAWAR—ZTBL took the first innings lead against Peshawar in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy Cricket Tournament pool-B match ended in a draw on Monday.
ZTBL piled up 498 runs in their first innings with a fine knock of 106 runs from opener Inam, middle order Adnan (64), skipper Wajahatullah Wasti (50) were the prominent contributors. ZTBL after setting up a huge 398 runs, bundled out Peshawar for 141 to take 257 runs lead on follow-on. Peshawar after follow-on Peshawar scored 113 runs for the loss of four on the last and fourth-day of the match.
The first-day of the match was hit by heavy fog in the provincial capital as only 54. 4 overs were bowled. The first and last session of the opening day was badly marred by the fog as half of the overs cut down.
Earleir, Peshawar won the toss and asked ZTBL to bat first. ZTBL while batting first scored 398 runs for the loss of all wickets after playing 126.1 overs. It was magnificent century by opener Ina-ul-Haq who smashed 106 runs for 226 balls with 13 boundaries. Adnan (64) off 98 balls with nine boundaries and a six, Skipper of ZTBL and World Cupper Wajahatullah Wasti made 50 runs off 127 balls with six boundaries and a six while Afaq (29), Faisal Naveed (29), Kashif and Muhammad Khalil 24 each were the other top runs takers.
For Peshawar Rahat Ullah claimed five boundaries for 88 runs in his 28.1 overs, Bilal Khan grabbed three wickets for 134 runs and Nauman Habib, Inamullah and Jamal took one wicket each. Peshawar in reply to huge ZTBL total bowled out for just 141 runs after playing 53.4 overs. Fawad Ali (20), Sajjad Ahmed (36), Bilal Khan hot out 16 were the high runs takers, none of the other batsmen could stand in front of ZTBL pack bowling attack.
For ZTBL Zohaib Khan claimed four wickets for 16 runs in his 11.4 overs spell, Muhammad Khalil got three wickets for 36 runs in his 19 overs spell, Muhammad Azahar Atttari got two wickets for 36 runs and Kashif Mehmood got one wicket for 42 runs. Thus Peshawar bundled out for 141 runs, resulted a lead of 257 runs.
Peshawar after follow-on, made 113 runs for the loss of four wickets after playing 33 overs when the four-day play was ended as a result the match was drawn. When the bail were off, Sajjad Ahmed was not out on 39 and Azam Jan was not out on 51, the top batsmen gone for no score including openers - Fawad Ali and Naveed Khan while Jamal made only two runs and Gohar Ali was bowled out for 8.
For ZTBL Muhammad Khalil took two wickets for 25 runs and Kashif Mehmood and Azhar got one wicket. Javed Ashraf and Muhammad Asif supervised the match.—Agencies
