Deposed
judges to be reinstated, says Nawaz
FAISALABAD—PML-M chief Mian Nawaz Sharif has said deposed judges are
highly esteemed judges and they will be reinstated when good time comes.
“ All the judges including chief justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry who
have not taken oath under PCO are very revered to us. When good time
comes, we will reinstate them”, he said this while addressing a public
meeting here Monday.
“I have not filed appeal against rejection of my nomination papers as
the judges have taken oath under PCO”, he maintained “My papers were
rejected because I did not compromise on principles. I will keep on
repeating the history of not compromising on principles. I salute to my
associates who did not bow before a dictator”, he remarked.
Citing to election boycott issue Nawaz Sharif said he had asked Benazir
Bhutto the only way to rid the incumbent rulers was “ let us all boycott
the elections. But Benazir Bhutto did not accept this stance nor she
considered this proposal. Later I decided to contest the election after
consultation with my associates so that electoral field is not left open
for PML-Q, he added.
He reiterated January, 8 election would be a referendum against
dictators. “I don’t need office of prime minister. If Pakistan is safe
then Nawaz Sharif can become prime minister, he added. He alleged the
person who made India a nuclear state was made president and on the
other hand the man who transformed Pakistan into nuclear state was
imprisoned.
Central Vice President Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) Makhdoom Javed
Hashmi has categorically stated that there will be no compromise on
principles, adding that, the Party wants real and genuine democracy in
the country instead of so-called elections.
In an exclusive interview with Online on Monday, Central Vice President
PML-N said, the next general elections will be totally fraudulent and
PML-N will face the challenges with support of masses in this respect.
We will also not accept any positive step of President Musharraf till
the independence of judiciary, he said, adding, President Musharraf will
rig the elections to ensure a compliant parliament.
The elections cannot be held fair, free and transparent till lifting of
curbs placed on media and reinstatement of judges who did not take oath
under Provincial Constitutional Order (PCO), Javed pointed out.
He said that the President should reinstate deposed judges instead of
lifting emergency in the country and ending PCO on December 16. He vowed
that the struggle would be continued till the independence of the
judiciary and reinstatement of deposed judges.
He said that the fight of PML-N is not for the slot of Prime
Ministership but for the rights of people and stability of Pakistan.
There will no affect with rejection of nomination papers of Mian
Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif but it was
rejected revengefully and showed Government’s real intention, he noted.
The veteran politician said that the Election Commission of Pakistan and
the Caretaker Federal and Provincial Governments are unbiased and has no
intention to hold fair, free and transparent elections.
The political parties and people of the country want such a country
which have independent judiciary and free media but President Pervez
Musharraf just to prolong his illegal rule deceiving the United States,
Europe and Islamic countries and involved in oppression against his own
people under the cover of war on terror.
Expressing concern over prevailing situation in the country, Javed
Hashmi said that the country is facing critical time of its history and
the operation continued in the tribal areas of the country and in Swat
can endanger the stability of the country if wise steps were not taken
in time.—agencies
