EO seeks two floors in Shaheed-e-Millat Secretariat
ISLAMABAD—The Estate Office building, which was completely gutted during
the Lal Masjid Operation seeks two floors in Shaheed-i-Millat
Secretariat for smooth functioning of routine work.
According to an inquiry report,the Estate Office was put onfire by an
unruly mob during the Lal Masjid operation and has suffered a loss of Rs.
19.7 million. Talking to newsmen Estate Officer Ashfaq Ghumman said that
asummery about seeking two floors in Shaheed-i-Millat Secretariat has
been put forward by the Ministry of Housing and Works to the Prime
Minister Secretariat for approval. He said that after getting permission
from there the Estate Office would be shifted from the existing building
to new place. He said that besides, structural damages, almost all
theequipment and record of the office have been reduced to ashes.
Ghumman said that the office should be shifted to some otherplace
immediately as both the officials and public were facing problems due to
non existence of the facilities and the officialwork was also being
delayed.
He said that hundreds of government employees daily visitedEstate Office
in their routine work and due to non-existing of proper place and other
facilities they were facing problems.—APP |
