Suicide car bomber kills 11 in Swat

SWAT—A suicide car bomber smashed into a Nimgole check Post of security forces, area of Nimgolai, District Swat on Sunday killing 11 people including 3 policeman. The dead and injured have been taken away in the ambulances in Saidu Sharif hospital and security personnel have cordoned off the entire area.
Three policemen who lost their lives included Qadar Gull, Israr, Hazrat Saeed, while two innocent brother and sister identified as Saima and Faraz have also been killed. A pedestrian named Ibrahim, Sher Malik, Abdullah Qureshi, Zafar Ali, Muhammad Hanifa were also among the dead. Sub-Inspector Bhadur Khan and a child Ali Hasan sustained severe injuries.
Eyewitnesses said that that the suicide bomber hit the check posts barricades with the car and then blew himself up. Meanwhile, three beheaded bodies of unidentified men were found in Irkot, area of Matta town, where the security forces are engaged in an operation against militants, said the report. Separately, the militants gun downed two people in area of Matta town for non-cooperating with them. On the other hand, the security forces destroyed house of Mufti Muhammad Ali Shah, head of Private FM Channel here in Bara Banday.
Eleven persons including three policemen were killed when a suicide bomber exploded his car at Ningwalai check post here on Sunday, police sources said. Seven civilians including two children were among the dead. Policemen who lost their lives were identified as Hazrat Syed, Qadar Gul and Israr.
Law enforcement agencies cordoned off the crime scene and special teams arrived to collect evidence for further investigation, said a press release issued by Media Information Center, Swat. Meanwhile, in an ongoing operation of security forces in Swat Saturday night, militant’s suspected hideouts were hit with artillery fire in Piochar and surrounding areas.
Various jirgas from Manglawar, Gulibagh and Charbagh approached security forces and extended their full support in ongoing operations to evict militants from their areas. Security forces are determined to continue their operation in order to restore peace in Swat valley and establish writ of the government, said the official statement. In Shangwatai area, three bodies of local militants were found in the area.
Village defense committees will soon start functioning whose main aim is to protect lives of innocent people. Most of the displaced people of Swat are returning back to their homes and life is returning to normal. Security forces also distributed rations and bedding amongst the displaced people.
Two persons including a police sub-inspector were injured in the blast. Security forces have taken head of the suicide bomber into possession. As per details at 12:35 pm, an unknown person smashed his car into a check post with a big bang, killing12 persons including three policemen Qadar Gul, Muhammad Israr and Hazrat Syed on the spot. Seven civilians Abdullah Qureshi alias Tota Bacha, Sher Malik, Hanifa, Zafar Abrahim, Faraz and Fatma were among the dead in the suicide blast. Two personnel of Frontier Constabulary were also killed in the incident whose names could not be ascertained.—Agencies
