Memon appeals Opp parties not to boycott election

ISLAMABAD—Federal Information Minister, Nisar A Memon on Friday appealed to opposition parties not to boycott crucial forthcoming parliamentary elections, saying the government was ready to discuss their concerns about the credibility of the polls
According to Germany base news agency, Nisar A Memon has that they were prepared to discuss opposition demands to stave off a boycott.
"We can only express hope that they all participate, so people have more choices in the elections", Memon told foreign journalists during a private lunch at a local hotel in Islamabad.
Nisar A Memon further said that government would fulfill its obligations for the transparent elections and was open to talks with the major opposition parties.
They have not decided on their charter of demands, but when they do, the doors of the government are open for conversation,' he added.
Memon also declined to comment on why Chaudhry and the head of the Supreme Court Bar Association, Aitzaz Ahsan, were still under house arrest, only saying it was 'because of threats to their security.'
