Top political advisory body stresses importance of research work
BEIJING—China’s top political
advisor Jia Qinglin Friday called for more efforts in conducting
research on the work of local political advisory bodies under new
situations.
Jia, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s
Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), made the remarks when
addressing a three-day meeting on summarizing good experiences of local
political advisory bodies. Jia said political advisory bodies have
played well their roles in political consulting, democratic supervising,
discussing policies and advising on economic, political, cultural and
social construction in the past five years.
“The role of political advisory bodies was seen to be more prominent in
Chinese people’s political life, as local political advisory bodies
innovatively explore ways to carry out their duties,” Jia said. He urged
China’s political advisory bodies to make research and constantly
improve themselves in a bid to move with the times.
The political party system China has adopted is multi-party cooperation
and political consultation under the leadership of the Communist Party
of China (CPC). The CPPCC is an important institution of multi-party
cooperation and political consultation under the leadership of the CPC.
After many years of practice, two basic modes of political consultation
in the multi-party cooperation system have formed: the CPC’s
consultation with democratic parties, and the CPC’s consultation with
democratic parties and representatives from all circles in the CPPCC.—Xinhua |
