Pakistan attaches great importance to ties with China: Hamid

ISLAMABAD—Federal Minister for Interior Lt. Gen (R) Hamid Nawaz Khan has said that Pakistan attaches great importance to its time tested friendship with China.
“The mutual trust, cooperation and unanimity of views on regional and global issues provide solid foundation for our bilateral relations,” he said this while talking to Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Luo Zhaohui here at Ministry of Interior.
Syed Kamal Shah, Federal Secretary Interior and Brig (R) Javed Iqbal Cheema, Director General National Crisis Management Cell (NCMC) were also present in the meeting.
The Minister said that Karakoram Highway and Gwadar Port projects are testimony to everlasting friendship of two counties and bondage for alltimes to come.
He said Pakistan being the front-line state in the war against terrorism is committed to fighting terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.
“We are committed to eliminate terrorism from this land of ours forever.”
He said terrorists neither profess any religion nor have they any respect for humanity and its norms. They are well trained and have acquired modern and sophisticated weapons, he added.
Hamid said the government of Pakistan has taken several steps and measures to strengthen security of Chinese people.
A dedicated foreigners security cell (FSC) is functioning at Ministry of Interior, he said adding provincial FSC’s in the Home Department are also reactivated and made more vibrant and effective.
The Chinese Ambassador appreciated Pakistan’s efforts in the war against terrorism hoping that ties between China and Pakistan will be further strengthened in future.
He said that “We value our relations with Pakistan and both the countries are enjoying cordial ties, which were gaining momentum with the passage of time.
