Govt provides level playing field to
investors in oil, gas: Ahsanullah

ISLAMABAD—Federal Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources, Mr.
Ahsanullah Khan has said that the government was providing a level
playing field to the investors in oil and gas sector and would extend
all out cooperation in this regard. He expressed these views while
talking to the Chairman of Orient and Zaver Petroleum companies Mr.
Sadruddin Hashwani who called on him here today.
The Minister said that the government was keen to promote oil and gas
exploration activities in the country at fast pace in order to meet the
growing energy needs of the country. The Minister said that the
government was taking concrete steps for exploiting the untapped
hydrocarbon resources in 6, 27,000 sq.km. Sedimentary onshore and
offshore areas and offering a package of incentives to the prospective
investors to take advantage of the investment opportunities in the oil
and gas exploration increased in the country. The Minister appreciated
the contribution of Orient Petroleum Company for promoting the oil and
gas exploration activities in the country and hoped that it would
continue to avail the investment opportunities in the oil and gas sector
for the mutual advantage. The Chairman of Orient Petroleum informed the
Minister about his company’s involvement in the acquired onshore blocks
of Mirpur Khas and Khapro from where around 85 mmcfd gas were being
produced. He expressed his company’s willingness to acquire more blocks
for intensifying the oil and gas exploration activities. |
