Prices of warm clothes shoot op in twin cities
RAWALPINDI—People living in twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad are
facing enormous difficulties due to skyrocketing prices of warm clothes,
as the winter season has set in following intermittent lighting rain.
The major bazaars in twin cities including Aabpara Market, G-9 Markaz,
Murree Road, Satellite Town Commercial Centre, Sunday weekly bazaars,
Sadiqabad, Moti bazaars, Saddar, Tench Bata and several others small
bazaars are witnessing a rush of people coming to buy warm clothes Landa
bazaars are the biggest source of relief for the poor and low-income
groups of society. A number of people including college and university
students, housewives and working women visit Landa bazaars to buy
second-hand branded stuffs at affordable prices. The prices of modern,
snazzy clothes, especially designer outfits are usually beyond the reach
of the middle class.
“For most of us the best option is to visit Landa bazaar,” “, said Nida
Yasir a housewife, shopping at Rawalpindi Raja bazaar. “We can easily
find our desired dresses and shoes here at very low prices as compared
to any other regular market of the city. I cannot afford fancy dresses
for my five children. Landa bazaar is a perfect shopping place for poor
families,” she added.
Predicting an extremely cold weather, I have come to buy woolen- clothes
for my family,” said Aasima, a housewife, shopping at Rawalpindi Moti
bazaar. She said that the district administration should establish
separate bazaars for middle class people but the office bearers are busy
in running elections campaign of candidates.—Online |
