Action soon against applied for vehicle

ISLAMABAD—A campaign will be started against the applied for vehicles those have plied above 100 kilometer with in the capital and strict action will be initiated as plying of applied for vehicle is illegal, it was divulged by the Senior Superintendent of Police, Traffic, Islamabad Muhammad Zubair Hashmi.
Islamabad Traffic Police also started a campaign to educate the public for displaying standardized Number plates of vehicles in the month of December and will initiate action against varied numb er plates of the vehicles too from 1st January 2008. According to details, SSP Traffic Islamabad directed that ITP personnel to start a special campaign against applied for vehicles which completed their limits of 100 km because an applied for vehicle is allowed to ply up to 100 KM otherwise plying of applied for vehicle is illegal. The SSP Traffic Islamabad suggested that after purchasing the vehicle the citizens should immediately apply for registration of the vehicle with Excise and Taxation Office and should display the number plates issued from the said office. “The receipts issued by the ETO will be acceptable before obtaining registration book. If the number plate will be displayed, otherwise action will be initiated under motor vehicles laws, he added.
“The display of standardized number plates will only be allowed in the capital and action will be initiated against vehicle displaying number plates differ with the identical number plates” the SSP traffic said. He advised the citizens to display the number plates on their vehicles issued from the office of ETO Islamabad and ITP personnel will educate for the said during the month of December 2007 and action against varied number plates will be carried out from January 2008.
