Abdullah Gul arrives

ISLAMABAD—Turkish President Abdullah Gul arrived at Chaklala air base, Islamabad, on Sunday evening on a two-day official visit to Pakistan.
President Musharraf received his Turkish counterpart at the airport. On this occasion, first lady Sehba Musharraf, Interim Foreign Minister, Inamul Haq were also present. The official guest, upon his arrival, also received a 21-gun salute. Turkish President Abdullah Gul arrived here Sunday on a two-day state visit to Pakistan at the invitation of President Pervez Musharraf.
He was received at the Chaklala airbase by President Pervez Musharraf. A 21 gun salute was presented on the arrival of the distinguished guest. Begum Sehba Musharraf, Caretaker Foreign Minister Inamul Haq, Turkish Ambassador Engin Soysal and senior officials were also present at the airbase. The Turkish President was accompanied by the first lady Mrs. Hayrunnisa Gul, senior officials, business leaders and top media personalities of Turkey.
The visit of President Gul, for the first time after assuming the office of Turkish President, was aimed at further promoting and enhancing the bilateral and friendly relations between the two countries. The visit is taking place in the 60th year of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and Turkey.
