Memon urges media to give equitable coverage to all parties

ISLAMABAD—Federal Minister of Information and Broadcasting Nisar A. Memon held a meeting with the heads of all the departments of the Ministry here Saturday to prepare for creating a conducive environment for supporting the Election Commission to hold transparent, free and fair elections. The Minister while reiterating the objective of the caretaker Government said, “In order to facilitate Election Commission to conduct elections in a free and impartial environment the media must give equitable coverage to all political parties.”
He directed the officials of the Ministry to take appropriate measures in order to facilitate media in promoting a congenial environment for the elections.
The meeting was attended by Secretary Information Mr. Anwar Mahmood, PIO Mr. Rashid Ahmad, Executive Member PEMRA Mr. Noor Sagheer Khan and representatives from PTV, Radio Pakistan ,EP Wing and APP.
