Students display dry floral arrangements

ISLAMABAD—Students from different educational institutions exhibited dry flower arrangements here at Artisan Art Gallery in a competition held for enhancing artistic skills of the young artists and exploring their hidden talent.
The competition was organized by the Artisan Society while Talha Mehmood, Chairman Senate Standing Committee for Interior was the chief guest on the occasion.
All the arrangements were based on the theme of “Autumn colours” in which the students from various colleges of the Federal Capital presented a collection of dry flowers, leaves and other items with natural look of fall colours.
“The Artisan Society is working on non-profit basis aiming at promoting art and providing a platform to the young artists for exhibiting their talent,” said Najma Khan, Programme Executive of the Artisan Society.
More than nine art pieces were displayed in the exhibition which attracted a large number of visitors and art lovers in the gallery.
Senator Talha Mehmud distributed prizes among winners and certificates to all participants and appreciated the art work as well as the efforts of artisan society for providing a platform to the amateur artists.
“Such activities provide an opportunity for the youth to boost their hidden potential”, he remarked.
Hajira Rehman from IMCG F-6/2 got first position in the competition while Hina Zehra, F.G College F-7/2 and Fatima Masud ICG F-6/2 got second and third positions respectively.
