Facilities to deposed judges withdrawn

ISLAMABAD—The administration of Supreme Court of Pakistan has taken back more facilities and incentives from judges who refused to take fresh oath under Provincial Constitutional Ordinance (PCO).
The administration has taken back drivers, employees and vehicles from the deposed judges of apex court, sources close to relatives of judge told BBC on Thursday. Caretaker Interior Minister Lieutenant Gen. (Retd) Hamid Nawaz recently announced that the Government would evacuate houses from deposed judges of apex court till December 31. However, deposed senior judge of Supreme Court Justice Rana Bhagwandas rejected the announcement by saying that the Government has no authority to take houses back from judges. Sources added that the administration has taken back drivers, employees and vehicles from judges, while the youngest son of deposed Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry is very ill while mother of Justice Nasir-ur-Malik cannot move or walk without support.—Agencies
