G-14 development project at stake
ISLAMABAD—Owing to nonexistence of coordination among Government
departments, the development of Sector G-14 is in doldrums and matters
related to acquirement of the land and issuing of allotment letters has
still not been resolved causing anxiety among thousands of allotees of
the sector.
The allotees of the sector while expressing concern over delay in the
development of the project said that there is no coordination among
Government Employees Housing Foundation, the Capital Development
Authority (CDA) and the District Administration. The allottees of the
sector have appealed to caretaker Prime Minister, Muhammad Mian Soomro
to take disciplinary action against the responsible officers and develop
the sector at the earliest.
They said that the Foundation has given October 25 as the deadline for
payment of all the installments and pledged that allotment of the plots
would be held in the first week of November but the balloting still not
been held. They said that they paid all the installments of the land but
the foundation failed to acquire the land in four years. The Foundation
on the other hand has the stance that the land of Sector G-14 has been
acquired but the District Administration is not cooperating in carrying
out the survey of the land. The officials said that CDA was asked to
review the planning of the sector and the balloting cannot be held
without getting the maps.
CDA officials opined that the planning has been done and now the
Foundation has demanded to add more plots which is a difficult task,
adding that 50 percent work has been completed while the remaining be in
two weeks.—Online |
