Allottees of D-12, I-16 to get possession next year

ISLAMABAD—The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has expedited the development work in all under-developed sectors with a resolve to give the possession of plots to the allottees during the next year.
CDA Member Engineering, Mian Moinuddin Kakakhel told APP on Sunday that more or less 60 percent development work has been complet d in sector D-12, while the work on the roads, water supply sewerage and drainage is underway.
He said the Authority has contracted with the Sui Gas department to provide gas facility in the sector. He said the planned installation of a grid station of 132 KV may delay the provision of power supply for one and half year.
Kakakhel hoped that the sector would be ready for allotment till June next year after which the allotees will be given possession of their property.
The residential sector was acquired in 1989 and since then the allottees are waiting to construct their houses because the matter of compensation of affected people halted the development work. After launch, the area of 244 kanals was left from acquisition that came to the knowledge of the Authority after the development work was started.
CDA's Tehsildar told the land acquisition has been completed and the allottee will be handed over plots near June next year.
Director Land CDA Ch Asadullah Faiz said that the land owners are being compensated for their property. He said about 300 hundred dwellings have also been constructed illegally in the sector those will be removed.
Member engineering said the development work in sector I-16 is in full swing. He said on the directives of Senator Ch Mohammad Anwar Bhinder, Cahirman Sub-Committee of the Senate Functional Committee, the Authority has completed the development work in sectors I-16/1 and I-16/4.
He said after the completion of the work, the plots will be handed over to the allottees in January next year but without gas and power supply.
Kakakhel said the Authority has hired the consultant, `Design Man' to draft the design of the development of sector I-15, who would complete his assignment by December 5. The development work would be started in mid January. He said the construction of the service roads will be started soon after the design gets finalized.
