Prices of edibles shoot up in Capital

ISALAMBAD—Prices of most commodities registered upto 35 percent increase affecting the purchasing power of the common man while the citizens also facing immense shortage of atta in the capital.
The prices of edibles like wheat flour, some pulses, ghee and cooking oil, witnessed immense increase and made difficult for people to survive. The citizens while complaining increase in the prices of daily commodities said that the prices of pulse masoor and cold drinks have been increased by 16 and 15 percent respectively. The prices of Ghee has also been increased in the recent time and Ghee Mills Association held responsible the upward trend in the prices of oil on the international level. The citizens are also facing immense shortage of atta and the shopkeepers blamed that the owners of flourmills are responsible for this shortage as they are earning more profit by supplying atta to NWFP. —Agencies
