Residents of
UC Adyala demand to enhance performance of water committee
RAWALPINDI—The residents of Union Council Adyala have expressed grave
concern over the poor performance of water committee and demanded of the
authorities concerned to take effective measures to enhance its
performance.
The residents, while talking to Online told that eight member water
committee was established following the directives of District
Coordination Officer (DCO) Rawalpindi to ensure the supply of water
without any hurdle in the area but the chairman of committee who is
former army personnel, Subidar Nazar using his powers and other staff
members for his personal benefit and interests. They alleged that
Chairman of the committee not only creating problems for the people of
area but also stopped the salary of two workers for the last six months
for restoring the two legal water connections. The chairman stopped
their monthly salary on the justification of shortage of funds, the
residents added saying that every consumer pay Rs.70 as monthly water
bill and despite of clearance of dues, the Chairman often disconnects
the water connection of their opponents.—Online |
