Clashes continue in Swat, Shangla
 
SWAT—The security forces continue operation in Swat and Shangla districts. ISPR reports that situation is in control of security forces in Swat, and militant hideouts are being targeted with artillery and gunship helicopters.
Reports say that security forces targeted hide outs of miscreants in Jat Kot, Najia Top and near Manglawar killing a number of miscreants. Meanwhile, twenty-four hours curfew was imposed in Swat from two p.m. The curfew imposed at two p.m. yesterday was relaxed at nine a.m. this morning.
The NWFP government Saturday decided to form a grand peace Jirga to establish peace in the province and stressed for dialogue to improve the law and order situation in Swat. The decision was made at a provincial cabinet meeting held under the chairmanship of NWFP Caretaker Chief Minister Shams-ul-Mulk agreed on holding of negotiations for resolving the Swat issue. The meeting also emphasised on enforcing the writ of the government in the troubled valley.—Agencies
