Privilege motion in Senate against IG Punjab

ISLAMABAD—Senator Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) Saadia Abbasi on Friday submitted Privilege motion in Senate Secretariat for not allowing her to meet with Barrister Aitzaz Ahsan President Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) in Adyala Jail by Inspector General Prisons Punjab Sarfraz Ahmed Khan Mufti. Senator Sadia Abbasi adopted a stance in the motion that despite several telephonic reminders as well as written request to allow her to meet with Aitzaz Ahsan but so far no response has been made by I.G. Prisons which amount to breach of privilege of a Parliamentarian. She requested Chairman Senate to approve the motion immediately and refer it to the Privilege Committee for the further necessary action.—Agencies
