Fazal balks at APDM boycott call

ISLAMABAD,—Former Opposition leader in the National Assembly and Amir Jamiat Ulema Islam (JUI), Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman has said that Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) is participating in the next general elections for protection of constitution and continuation of the democratic process.
The former Opposition leader in the National Assembly while talking to Provincial leaders of JUI including Maulana Muhammad Khan Sherani, Maulana Gul Naseeb Khan and others via telephone on Saturday said that the boycott of the elections by one party would not yield any benefit.
He said that MMA is carefully monitoring the situation and is in contact with all political parties, adding that, we would try to reach on a unanimous decision soon. The veteran politician said that the country has been passing through critical phase of its history and the incumbent rulers have no formula aimed to get the country out from current crises and under these circumstances, it is the responsibility of all the political and religious parties to play their role.
MMA would accelerate its efforts for the enforcement of Quran and Sauna and strengthen political process in the country, he vowed. Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman asked the workers of MMA to start election campaign and participate in the electoral process.—Online
