‘Balach victim of factional feud’
Bureau Report

QUETTA—Inspector General Frontier Corps (FC) Balochistan Major General Salim Nawaz on Friday denied any operation in Balochistan and said that the killing of Balaach Marri can be result of inter-factional feuds.
In a statement issued here he said that the incident has occurred inside Afghan territory adding that time and again reports confirmed the presence of both Balaach and Brahmdagh in Afghanistan from where they led insurgency in Balochistan.
The statement claimed that differences had appeared between Bugti and Marri tribes during 1970 operation. Moreover, Balaach had left Nawab Bugti alone amid the clashes taking place between Nawab Bugti and Security forces.
These differences went further when Balaach left Nawab Bugti in a cave where he was killed in an operation in 2006. He said that the family of Balaach Marri is aware of the fatal differences existing between Brahmdagh and Balaach. IG-FC asserted that the silence of Brahmdagh has not only concealed the real situation but also proves that Balaach was killed inside Afghanistan.—Agencies
