EC clips Nazims

ISLAMABAD—Curtailing powers of Nazims all over the country, the Election Commission has banned the initiation of any new development project in any area.
According to a notification issued by the Election Commission, all Nazims and Naib Nazims of districts, Tehsil and towns have been categorically asked neither to support any contesting candidate nor donate for any political party.
The Election Commission has also advised Nazims not to influence the upcoming polls in anyway as any interference on their part may render them ineligible for the post.
Another order issued from the Election Commission instructed all federal and provincial officials to stay impartial during the polls as an illegal use of their official powers may result in hard labour sentence. The Commission has also extended date for filing nominations for the special seats till the 25th of November.—Agencies
