China wants stable Pakistan for peace

ISLAMABAD—Chinese President Hu Jintao Thursday in a message to President Pervez Musharraf said stability in Pakistan is vital to the peace and security of the region, PTV reported.
Hu Jintao said that he has been following the development of the situation in Pakistan and that its stability is “vital to the peace and security of the region.”
The Chinese President said he completely understands theefforts made by President Musharraf for keeping social stability in Pakistan. “I firmly believe that under the leadership of yourExcellency Pakistan is able to properly handle the internal and external challenges, realise smooth transition and continue to maintain stability and development,” he said in the message.
He said his country is committed to safeguarding anddeveloping Sino-Pakistan strategic partnership of cooperation and will continue to promote mutually beneficial cooperation in allareas. “The Chinese people will stand by the Pakistani people atany time. The Chinese side is willing to keep close communication and coordination with your side,” Hu Jintao further said.—APP
