PML (Q) to issue 95% tickets to former Members

ISLAMABAD—Central Parliamentary Board of PML (Q) on Thursday formally decided to issue party tickets to 95 percent former Members of the Assembly.
To this effect, 300 Candidates have been short-listed for 272 National Assembly Seats.
This was decided in a high-level meeting of Central Parliamentary Board of PML (Q) under the leadership of Party President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain.
The meeting was attended by Former PM Shaukat Aziz, Secretary General Mushahid Hussain Sayed and other respected Members of the Board.
The meeting informed that so far 3300 applications have been received, out of which 300 were rejected however final list will be issued after the meeting.
Later while talking to Journalists, PML Secretary Finance Imtiaz Ranjha said that out of 300 short-listed, name of former PM Shaukat Aziz is also included in the list adding that 95% names of Former Members of the Assembly are also present in the list.
He said that names of all those Members have been included whose performance during last five years have been outstanding while on the other hand Minority and Women seats are still vacant and yet not decided about it.
He said that name of Mustafa Khar is final from Islamabad's NA constituency 49 while NA 48 is not final yet.
He further told Journalists that former CM Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi will contest elections for Provincial Assembly from Gujrat while from National Assembly; he will contest from an area of Bahawalpur, Hazman.
PML (Q) President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain will contest NA Election from three constituencies that is Gujrat, Attock and Lahore respectively.
