India to publish history on wars

NEW DELHI—India will publish official history on wars between and Pakistan since independence.
Indian Defence Minister A K Antony said in a written reply in Rajya Sabha on Wednesday, a Committee which went into the 1999 Kargil conflict has recommended publication of official history of Pak-India wars. The Kargil Review Committee “among other things emphasised on the necessity of publishing authentic accounts of Indo-Pak wars of 1965 and 1971 besides the Kargil conflict of 1999,” the Minister said.
“A Committee to review the publication of war histories was constituted by the Government. The Committee has given its recommendations which are being considered for arriving at a final decision on this issue,” he said.
To another question, the Minister said the perception of Line of Actual “From time to time, on account of differences in the perception of the LAC, situations have arisen on the ground that could have been avoided if we had a common perception of the LAC,” he said.—APP
