Nasir hails Govt decision to setup HC in Capital
ISLAMABAD—President Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI)
Nasir Khan highly appreciated the decision from Federal Government to
set up High Court in federal capital of Islamabad.
In a statement issued here on Wednesday, President ICCI said that after
the establishment of High Court workload of Federal cases will be
reduced from other benches, and federal government will be able to save
the money and as well as time.
Having its own High Court would put it on a par with the provinces and
the high courts in their provincial capital, he said, adding that,
Federal High Court will be able to reduce the burden on the other high
courts, since it will then be possible to divert to it thousands of
appeals and cases filed by Islamabad based litigations.
Besides, lawyers and judges with an Islamabad domicile will also be able
to rise and become high court judges, something they were not previously
eligible for, since the city does not fall under the jurisdiction of any
province.
The President ICCI said that due to lot of burden people have to wait
many years for judiciary decisions. He also suggested setting up more
High Curt benches in other important cities to reduce the
burden.—Agencies |
