Nawaz hints
at return
JEDDAH/LONDON—Former Prime Minister and Quaid Pakistan Muslim League -
Nawaz, Mian Muhmmad Nawaz Sharif has again ruled out any talks with
President Pervez Musharraf and categorically stated that there are no
contacts on Governments’ level.
He said that said he could return home as soon as next week to take part
in the elections campaign if Saudi Arabia reached an agreement with
General Pervez Musharraf, to end his exile in the kingdom.
Talking to media men in Jeddah and in an interview to British Newspaper,
the exiled former Prime Minister said that he was busy in Shah Faisal
Hospital due to angioplasty of his mother and no contacts were made with
the Government and he is also not serious in this regard.
Answering to a question, the former Prime Minister said that there is no
possibility of any meeting with President Pervez Musharraf as there is
clear difference of thinking between President Musharraf and us. We are
talking about the restoration of democracy while he (Musharraf) only
wants to prolong his illegal rule. The former Prime Minister said
that today Pakistan is facing a number of problems including
lawlessness, inflation, unemployment and extremism and the only solution
of these problems lies on the unity of all political forces on one-point
agenda and establishment of democratic Government after conduction of
free and fair elections.—Online
