GHS Jamrud wins PCB FATA Inter-School Cricket title

PESHAWAR—Government High School Jamrud No. 2 defeated Government High School Akhrolval FR Kohat in the final of the PCB FATA Inter-School Cricket Tournament played here at Kohat Cricket Stadium on Monday.
Government High School Jamrud skipper Abdul Aziz won the toss and invited GHS Akharvol FR Kohat to bat first. GHS Akharvol while batting first scored 113 runs after playing 23.5 overs of the allotted 40 overs.
Atiq-ur-Rehman (40) off 38 balls with four boundaries, Atif (26), Abdul Ghafar (17) were the leading scorers. For Jamrud High School Noor Muhammad took three wickets for 21 runs, Shafique got one wicket for 18 runs, Qismat Shah got one wicket for 17 runs.
In reply, Jamrud High School chased the target for the loss of four wickets after playing 21.1 overs with Abdul Aziz hammered 38 runs, Samiullah made 23 runs, Noor scored not 17 runs and Qismat Shah scored not out 13 runs.
For FR Kohat High School Atif got two wickets for 24 runs, Shakeel got one for 35 runs and Abdul Ghafoor got one for 19 runs. Thus Government High School Jamrud No.2 won the match by six wickets.
PCB Regional General Manager NWFP Anwar Zaib was the chief guest who gave away trophies and cash prizes to the winners and runners-up. PCB Coordinator for FATA Nisar Ahmed and large number of students and players were also present on this occasion. Anwar Zaib Jan also gave away cricket gears to the players and appreciated FATA schools for participating in the tournament. All 12 schools from across FATA took part in the tournament.
Now Jamrud High School will represent FATA in the Regional Inter-School Cricket Tournament. The match was supervised by Sareer Khan and Kifatullah supervised the match while Noor Muhammad acted as official scorer.
