PHF Academy for Under-16 players commences from 25th

ISLAMABAD—Pakistan Hockey Federation Academy for Under-16 boys will commence from November 25 at Government Model High School, Model Town Lahore which is adjacent to Model Town Post Office/opposite B-Block, says PHF spokesman Altaf Sabir.
The players have been asked to report to Prof. Dr. Tariq Aziz, Director of the Academy himself national hockey captain and former Olympic hockey player.
The Academy plan has been PHF’s endeavor to hone maximum talent for the future of national hockey, which will be for a period of two years. The players lodging and boarding arrangements, the purchase of books, the school uniform and the playing kit will be provided by the PHF. In addition to that the players will be given some pocket allowance also. In the morning the players will be pursuing their courses in the school classes and in the afternoon imparted coaching instructions by the PHF Coaches at the National Hockey Stadium Lahore.
Besides Professor Dr. Tariq Aziz, former Olympian Naveed Alam, former International and FIH coach K.M. Awais will be the coaches while Muhammad Pervaiz is to be the Administrative Officer. The selected players: GOALKEEPERS: Aqeel Raza (Lahore), Adnan Shakoor (Gojra), Amin Yousuf (Sheikhupura). FULL BACKS: Naveed Latif (Sheikhupura), Nasir Ali (Sargodha), M. Zubair (Bannu), M. Waqas (Bannu), Khurrum Basharat (Multan), Sufian (T.T.singh). HALF BACKS: Hafiz Saleem (Sheikhupura), Sajjad Jamil (Sargodha), Arshad Baig (DG Khan), Taufiq (Gojra), Usman Aslam (Okara), Qasim (Bahawalpur), M. Shoaib (Sheikhupura), Mohsin Yaqoob (Gujranwala), Atif Ali (T.T.Singh). FORWARDS: Adnan Babar (T.T.Singh), Adnan Sohail (Gojra), Jehangir (Narowal), Sohail Mustafa (Gojra), Faisal Rasheed (Shaikhupura), Sheraz Ali (Gojra), Bilal Shabbir (T.T. Singh), Akbar Ali (Gojra), Abdul Karim (Bannu), Abdul Khaliq (Lahore), Sabir (Sargodha), Naghmam Ahmed (Gojra), Gulfam Idrees (Narowal).
The selected players have been advised to bring with them attested copy of NADRA B Form, certificate from the Headmaster of the school verifying the class that he is studying- subsequently to provide school leaving certificate. In addition to that a Surty/authorization letter from father/guardian granting permission to stay in the Academy at Lahore. Also giving undertaking to indemnify the expenditure in case the player deserts during the period and bedding.—Agencies
