NADRA issues
60m CNICs
QUETTA—Chairman NADRA Brig (R) Saleem Ahmed Moin Monday said NADRA
organization has issued Computerized National Identity Cards (CNICs) to
60 million people in the country while 2.7 million people in
Balochistan. However, it has so far blocked CNIC of 27,000 foreigners.
Addressing a press conference here at the provincial headquarters of
Nadra on Monday, he said Nadra has data of 90 million people. Pakistan
is the first country which has advanced technology for registration and
Nadra is stepping up efforts to use it in a more effective way for
welfare of the people. He said Nadra is devising a strategy to ensure
only Pakistanis to go for pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia on Pakistani
documents “If any foreigner is found guilty to go to Hajj on Pakistani
CNIC and passport, both the parties will undergo 10 years imprisonment
with fine of Rs 3,00,000”, he said. —Agencies
