Caretaker
setup in provinces takes over

LAHORE/KARACHI/QUETTA—Justice (Retired) Ijaz Nisar took oath as the
Caretaker Chief Minister of the Punjab here on Monday. The Punjab
Governor, Khalid Maqbool administered the oath. The ceremony was
attended, among others, by high ranking civil and military officials.
The eighteen member caretaker Punjab cabinet also took oath of their
offices.
The names and the portfolios of the Provincial Ministers are:- Khurshid
Zaman Qureshi Agriculture, Dr. Mera Phailbus Education, Mubashir Luqman
Information Technology and Works, Maqbool Elahi Malik Human Rights,
Retired Justice Asif Jan Local Government and Rural Development,
Barrister Mahmood Ahmed Shaikh, Law, Syed Bilawar Abbas Irrigation, Saad
Asanuddin Forest, Walid Tariq Saigal Excise and Taxation, Mian Muhammad
Shafique Commerce, Mumtaz Khan Manais Livestock, Khawaja Jaluddin Roomi
Industry, IfKar-ul-Hassan, Mines and Minerals, Sohail Afzal Special
Education, Shahzad Azam Khan Labour and Manpower, Mian Shafqat Ali
Housing and Physical Planning and A. Karim Malik, whose portfolio will
be announced later.
Talking to newsmen briefly, the care-taker Chief Minister, said he and
members of his cabinet will perform their duties with utmost honesty and
dedication. He said priority will be given to ensure holding of free,
fair and impartial elections.
Justice (Retired) Abdul Qadir Haliputo took oath as Caretaker Chief
Minister of Sindh at a ceremony here on Monday. Provincial Governor Dr.
Ishratul Ebad Khan administered the oath. The fourteen member provincial
caretaker cabinet also took oath of their offices. The ministers are:
Brig. Retired Akhtar Zamin, Dewan Yousaf Farooqi, Jam Karam Ali, Shujaat
Ali Baig, Ejaz Shah Sherazi, Amber Raza Nanci, Fouzia Lari, Syed Jalal
Shah Jamot, Haji Irshad Memon, Nadra Punjwani, Arif Ali abbasi, Pir
Sibghatullah Shah Rashdi, Ch. Iftikhar Ahmed and Karim Mehr. The
ceremony was attended, by outgoing Chief Minister Arbab Ghulam Rahim,
Speaker Sindh Assembly Syed Muzaffar Hussain Shah , former Provincial
Ministers and MPAs besides senior government officials.
Sardar Saleh Mohammad Bhutani was sworn in as caretaker Chief Minister
of Balochistan here on Monday morning. Governor Balochistan Owais Ahmed
Ghani administered the oath. Eleven members provincial cabinet also took
oath of their offices. The minister include Sardar Saadat Ali Hazara,
Amjad Rasheed, Nawab Ghous Bakhsh Barozai, Mir Arif Jan Muhammad Hasni,
Ata Muhammad Gul, Sardar Ghulam Haider Nasir, Roshan Khurshid Broocha,
Mir Abdul Ghafoor Baloch, Nawabzada Aurangzeb Jogezai, Barrister
Saifullah Magsi and Mir Muhammad Murad Aabrro. Later addressing a new
conference the Caretaker Chief Minister said the provincial government
will continue development process initiated by President Pervez
Musharraf for the development of the province.
