‘Problems of textile industry to be addressed’

ISLAMABAD—Dr. Shahzad Arshad, chairman Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and
Industry (FPCCI), standing committee on textiles and ancillary has welcomed the appointment of Muhammad Mian Soomro as Caretaker Prime Minister and hoped that he (Soomro) will solve problems of textile industry on priority basis.
In a statement , Chairman FPCCI standing committee on textiles and ancillary Dr. Shahzad Arshad said that Muhammadmian Soomro was fully aware of the problem of the business sector and has the ability to steer the country out of present situation.
Dr.Shahzad Arshad expressed the hope that Muhammadmian Soomro being an honest and dedicated person having roots in well respected family and would be able to hold free and fair election.
Chairman FPCCI further said, that in the tenure of prime minister Muhammad Mian Soomro , the issues related to crisis in the textile industry, will also be addressed and the stake holders of textile industry of Pakistan, are very much hopeful and look forward towards the prime minister , in regard to issues which needs to be addressed.
The chairman, also said that, the main issue is the increase in the cost of doing business in our country, and immediate remedies are needed to be taken.
Dr.Shahzad Arshad further said that the textile industry of our beloved country contributes for approx 67 percent of the total exports , and at the same time contributes for approx 40 percent of the labor employment of our country.
