Full court to hear Presidential election’s petitions

ISLAMABAD—Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Abdul Hameed Dogar Saturday constituted a 10-member full court to hear from November 19 the petitions of Wajihuddim Ahmed and others against eligibility of General Pervez Musharraf to contest the presidential election held early last month.
The bench comprises Chief Justice Abdul Hameed Dogar, Justice Muhammad Nawaz Abbasi, Justice Faqir Muhammad Khokhar, Justice M.Javed Buttar, Justice Ejaz-ul-Hassan, Justice Muhammad Qaim Jan Khan, Justice Mosa K.Leghar, Justice Ch.Ejaz Yousaf, Justice Muhammad Akhtar Shabbir and Justice Zia Pervez.
The Chief Justice also constituted a 7-member larger bench to hear petitions filed by Tikka Iqbal Muhammad Khan and Watan Party challenging the impostion of emergency in the country.
A 10-member bench of Supreme Court (SC) will take up identical constitutional petitions against the acceptance of President Musharraf nomination papers for presidential polls on Monday.—Agencies
