Mujaddadi meets former PM Shaukat Aziz

ISLAMABAD—Former prime minister Shaukat Aziz has said PML-Q and its
allied parties will field strong candidates and achieve success in next
general elections.
He said this during a meeting with NA speaker Chaudhry Amir Hussain and
former federal ministers Ejaz ul Haq, GG Jamal, Jahangir Tareen, Ghulam
Sarwar Khan and Commander Khalil at Prime Minister House here Saturday.
Meeting focused on strategy for upcoming general elections, reforms
agenda, continuity in policies and boost in agriculture production for
improvement in life standard of rural population.
Former Prime Minister said on the occasion that “ we have worked for the
uplift and betterment of people during our five years stay in the
government and we will achieve historical success on the basis of our
performance in the upcoming general elections. The development of the
country depends on continuity of policies. “We will ensure this
continuity:, he asserted.
Congratulating NA speaker Chaudhry Amir Hussain for running the business
of the house in a befitting manner he said it was due to Chaudhry Amir
Hussain that environment of the house remained conducive and record
legislation was enacted.
Moreover chairman Senate Afghanistan Sibghat Ullah Mujaddadi along with
members of delegation met Shaukat Aziz in prime minister house.
During the meeting Shaukat Aziz said Pakistan had always wished for a
robust Afghanistan as “ Afghanistan success is our success, We want to
see Afghanistan among developed countries which stands on its feet”, he
added. People of Pakistan fully support joint Jirga Commission. “ We
always take such step which is in the mutual interest of people of both
the countries. We will continue to take such steps in future, he
underlined. Security on Pak-Afghan borders will particularly be
bolstered and made more effective so that the flow of those elements be
arrested who create problems for both the countries.
Lauding the steps taken by the government of Pakistan Sibghat Ullah
Mujaddadi said “ we express gratitude to government of Pakistan whatever
steps it has taken for Afghanistan. Improvement will be brought in Jirga
Commission so that the misperceptions between the two countries are
removed and bilateral ties are further cemented, he added. |
