ISLAMABAD—Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Senator
Nisar A. Memon Saturday said that the interim government is fully
committed to be neutral and the holding of free, fair and transparent
general elections in a secure environment is its prime objective.
While addressing the heads of departments and corporations of the
ministry of information and broadcasting, Mr. Nisar A, Memon said, “the
interim government will be neutral in its functioning and the holding of
free, fair and impartial polls in a secure environment is prime
objective. We have no personal agenda and would serve the nation upto
the best of our abilities. Continuity of economic policies is also focal
point so as to ensure that the economic progress of the country could
further be strengthened,” said the Minister. He informed the officials
of the ministry that in order to ensure neutrality, he had resigned from
the political post which he was holding in the PML (Q).

Minister and said that times had changed since he was Information
Minister in 1993 and then in 2002. Now, as he was given the charge of

the opportunities to face them’, he added.
