Pakistan 1-0 up in tennis series against India

ISLAMABAD—Aisam ul Haq Qureshi/Aqeel Khan of Pakistan gained a 1-0 lead for Pakistan by winning doubles against Ahustosh Singh/Vivek Shokeen of India on the opening day of the second leg of PSO Pakistan India Series at tennis courts of PTF complex Islamabad.
In the first set, all the players displayed high quality of tennis and the score went up to 5-5, as all the players held their respective services. Aisam and Aqeel broke the service of Vivek Shokeen at 30 ­40 and built up the winning lead 6-5 and won the first set at 7-5 .
In the second set Pakistani pair extended the lead to 3-1 by breaking 3rd game in the second set of Vivek Shokeen.At that stage it looked like that Pakistan will easily win the match but Indian pair fought back and displayed excellent game on the net and levelled the score 4-4 by breaking 8th game of Aqeel Khan in the second set.
Indians got the set point at 30-40 on the service of Aqeel Khan in the 12th game of the second set but Aqeel made two excellent services and won the game to level the score 6-6.
The set was decided on tie break which was won by Pakistan at 7-3 due to world class tennis of Aisam Ul Haq Qureshi. By winning this doubles Pakistan took the lead of 1-0 in the 2nd leg of Pakistan India series.
Both singles matches will be played Froday. The first single match will be played between Aqeel Khan of Pakistan and Vivek Shokeen of India at 10.00 A.M. . while the second single will be played between top Player of Pakistan Aism UL-Haq Qureshi and Ahustosh Singh of India after the gap of ten minutes
Ch.Shujat Hussain, President of Muslim League and former Prime Minister of Pakistan will grace the occasion as chief guest and will distribute the prizes.
