Benazir slams workers arrest

KARACHI—Former Prime Minister and Chairperson Pakistan Peoples Party Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto saluted the PPP workers, who are braving the brutalities of a dying regime all over Sindh since three days.
In a press statement issued here, Mohtarma Bhutto said that Jiyalas were carrying out the struggle for the democratic and human rights of the people of Pakistan and entire nation would never forget their unmatched commitment, conviction and sacrifices for the cause of democracy. The PPP Chairperson said she is proud of her brothers and sisters, who are braving the cruel state repression by a regime that is falling down like house of cards. She said that she had asked the administration to stop accepting the illegal orders of the regime and allow the people to hold peaceful protests.
Those sentenced include president PPPP, Azad Kashmir, Chaudhry Abdul Hamid, secretary general Chaudhry Lateef Akbar, district organizer Azad Kashmir Arshad Mir and other leaders including Chaudhry Muhammad Aslam, Irshad, Qaisar, Yaqoob, Tariq Khan advocate, Sajjad Haider Naqvi, Raja Rukhsar, and president PPP, Kotli, Azad Kashmir Sardar Sajid.
After the orders of house arrest the said leaders have been shifted to various jails of Punjab, including Bahawalnagar from their current Adiyala jail.
