Construction
on land allocated for defence ministry banned
ISLAMABAD—The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has decided to launch
grand operation with collaboration of Islamabad administration in order
to bulldoze illegal construction on land allocated for defence ministry
in north of Sector I-10/3.
The decision into this effect was taken during the meeting, Presided
over by Chairman CDA Kamran Lashari and attended by Inspector General
Islamabad Police, Chief Commissioner, Senior Superintendent Police (SSP),
Director Land Asadullah Faiz and other senior concerned officers. The
meeting was informed that the illegal construction on land allocated for
defence ministry covering area of 870 acres is being continued.
During the meeting, it was decided that Police Check Post will be
established at all exit and entry Point of area and no one will be
allowed to transport construction material. The meeting decided to put
ban on new construction there and section 144 will also be imposed in
this respect. The relevant authorities have been directed to conduct
complete survey of the area before operation against illegal
construction. The affectees will be compensated. Case will be registered
against those who try to create obstacle in the survey.—Online
