Soomro to be
caretaker PM
ISLAMABAD—The name of the Chairman Senate, Mianmuhammad Soomro
has been finalized for the post of caretaker PM. Sources have informed
that it has (also) been confirmed by big official guns like, Chaudhry
Shujaat, Sheikh Rashid, and others, that Soomro Sahib would take oath as
caretaker PM, after resigning his post of Chairman Senate.
However despite all the ballyhoo, no suggestion has yet been forwarded
by President Musharraf, hence it is strongly possible that Mr. Soomro
would be the ultimate choice for the top slot. Meanwhile the present
Assembly would stand dissolved at 0000hrs midnight, and according to
federal minister Sher Afgan Niazi, the PM does not require any special
Presidential decree.
The Provincial assemblies would be dissolved by 20th Nov, according to
which the presiding CMs would advise Governors to dissolve the
Provincial assemblies.
Following the successful completion of five year term of the incumbent
Government, President General Pervez Musharraf will formally host a
farewell dinner in honour of Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz, Members of
Federal Cabinet and Respected Members of PML (Q) and its Allied Parties
on Thursday (today). It is pertinent to mention that National Assembly
is about to complete its five-year term for the first time in the
history of Pakistan in spite of military rule in the country.—Online
